The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services to the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering solutions which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency said it can be alarmed with regards to the higher amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the substantial number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no completely functional office devoted to service the area every day. The assistance point established for intervention experiences SRD a higher influx of potential beneficiaries, that makes it tricky for that Workplace to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise read more extra resources to help the servicing of all customers and maximize entry to Social Assistance expert services,” the agency said.
